Who are SDJ Travel?

SDJ Travel is a locally owned independent private hire company formed in November 2022. 

For 3 to 4 years our founder Sam Dunning-Jones – The SDJ in SDJ Travel – had an idea to set up on his own. Then in October 2022 we decided to take the plunge and apply to setup on our own as a licensed private hire operator in Shrewsbury with Shropshire Council.

Our aim is not to be the cheapest out there but to provide a reliable friendly service at a reasonable cost.

All of our drivers and vehicles are locally licensed with Shropshire Council and all accept pet transport (please make us aware at the time of booking).

For local journeys we accept bookings a maximum of 10 days in advance.

For distance bookings we will accept bookings within 12 months. Depending on the journey a prepayment or deposit may be required.

What services do we offer?

Airport Transfers – We also provide complementary water on request. For journeys over 2 hours, you can request the driver to stop for up to 30 minutes at no extra charge. All flights are monitored with Airport Websites, Google and FlightRadar24 so that we get an accurate ETA to ensure that your driver will be there when you arrive back at the UK.

Long Distance Travel – Just like our Airport Transfers if you are going on a Long-Distance journey or maybe a Cruise Transfer then complementary water is provided for all passengers along with a rest break of up to 30 minutes on the journey should this be required.

We also provide Local Taxi Services in Shrewsbury for shopping, appointments, visiting friends, family, nights out, days out, restaurants and pubs.

Hourly, Half Day and Full Day Driver and Vehicle Hire where you get a set amount of times and miles for a set price. Anything outside of the agreed time or mileage is chargeable extra. This is useful if you are going to a different city and have a few meetings to attend as the driver would wait as close to your venue as possible so that you can be on the move again within a few minutes.

We also offer a collection service for shopping, prescriptions, Ebay and Facebook Purchases etc. All that we ask is that the items are prepaid before we dispatch a driver to collect them. We can collect anything within reason that is not going to harm our drivers or their vehicles.

Pet transport to any destination in the UK whether it is a trip to the vets, a day out to the beach or away for the weekend. Our drivers are happy to transport you and your pet in safety and comfort.
